The Soviet "Cosmos-482" interplanetary station, weighing half a ton, is expected to make an uncontrolled reentry into Earth's atmosphere, likely around May 10th, 2025. This happens because the probe, intended to explore Venus, failed to escape Earth orbit after launch in 1972. The descent capsule, designed for Venus's atmosphere, is expected to survive the reentry.
